Love Has Gone

After He Mengxian mocked me for being a good-for-nothing for the 111th time, I found two opera tickets in her designer backpack. She looked at me impatiently and said: "I was planning to surprise you for your birthday. Since you couldn't keep your hands to yourself and found them, I'll see you on Saturday." When Saturday came, I went out of my way to buy a new suit. But I waited outside the theater until the show was over, and He Mengxian never showed up. I opened my phone and saw that her childhood sweetheart had posted on Moments: [Didn't get to enjoy the opera, but since my silly little cat braved the wind and rain to watch a movie with me, I'll reward her with a big kiss.] In the past, I would have gone looking for He Mengxian, heartbroken, and demanded through tear-filled eyes to know why she treated me this way. But this time, I truly didn't care anymore.
