In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, a legend about a blood jade was told in a remote mountain village called Cuiping Village. The jade was said to be a relic of the last emperor of the Ming dynasty. It was endowed with great power, but also carried a terrible curse. Anyone who possessed it would suffer misfortune on the night of the full moon.
