The 1980s: Living Off the Mountains, Gathering Mushrooms, and Farming

A modern white-collar worker transmigrates to the remote Qinling Mountains in the 1980s. She flees an arranged marriage and has no family to rely on. Drawing on her past-life knowledge as a PhD in botany, she makes a living off the mountains: gathering mushrooms, digging up medicinal herbs, picking wild fruit, weaving homespun cloth, and mastering fishing, hunting, and farming. Surrounded by birdsong and flowers, with the breeze and moonlight for company, she opens her door to see distant mountains stretching into the horizon. This quiet, carefree life of seclusion couldn’t be more pleasant. And she even gets to fall in love with a handsome, dashing young village doctor!
