I Told You I Loved You Many Years Ago [Wang Yuan]

2027 is the first year he confesses his love for her.

And she has already loved him for eleven years.

Whenever people bring up 2018 or 2019,

her eyes fill with heartache and tenderness.

“Auntie, I don’t want him to lose. He was framed and bullied! Could you go back to China and find someone to help him with his lawsuit?”

“He’s not just some stranger to me. I love him. I can’t stand to see him forced to make sacrifices or do things he doesn’t want to do.”

“Baby, did you ever go to one of my concerts when you were little?”

He loved running his fingers through her long hair, which fell to her waist.

“I didn’t dare.”

She nestled against his neck, as if surrounded by the fresh scent of cedar that clung to him.

“Why?”

He was puzzled.

“Because I was afraid I’d have to go through withdrawal again and again.”

She turned her head and kissed his earlobe.

“Withdrawal? I think I get that feeling too.”

His hand rested at her slender waist.

“After waking from that dazzling, vibrant, brilliant light, no one who was part of it wants it to end. That includes you, of course.”

Her soft whisper tickled his ear.

“Then why do you want to go to every show now?”

He lowered his head to touch his forehead to hers, and took her hand in the one resting before her.

“Because when the festivities are over and everything falls silent, I can be held in your arms and slowly take in all this overwhelming love.”
