Forced into a marriage arranged by their families, Shi Sui married young. Her husband-to-be was Liang Sheng, the son of her father's longtime friend.
Liang Sheng had been arrogant and overbearing since childhood. Even though they had grown up together, Shi Sui had never liked him.
The one thing she appreciated was that Liang Sheng was fairly obedient after they married. If she wanted separate bedrooms, he agreed; if she wanted to keep the marriage private, he did that too. He was no longer always contradicting her like he had before the wedding. Still, in her heart, she considered their marriage nothing more than an act.
So when she learned that Liang Sheng had cherished someone in his heart for years, she could think of only one thing: their sham marriage had run its course.

“Let's get a divorce.”
Liang Sheng glanced at her impassively. “Why?”
Shi Sui said, “I don't love you.”
“Then you can put up with it.”
Shi Sui: “...”
Having brought up divorce, Shi Sui decided to move out first. But while packing, she discovered Liang Sheng's secret: the woman he had cherished for years was actually her. It was a shocking revelation.

Their friends had never believed in their marriage. Shi Sui and Liang Sheng had an extraordinarily bad relationship; they could start arguing the moment they met. Everyone figured they'd get divorced as soon as they'd fulfilled their families' wishes.
Then one day, someone saw Liang Sheng pin Shi Sui against a car and kiss her, his hand clasped tightly around her waist. Shocked, they took a photo and sent it to their group chat with the caption: “What kind of arranged marriage is this? It's true love!”
