This isn’t a made-up story. It’s a real-life tomb-robbing case that happened in Japan.
I was an ordinary resident of Osaka, Japan. My grandfather, Fujii Isshin, spent his life exploring the things passed down in folk tradition, driven by a desire to preserve Japanese culture and history.
As tomb raiding took off in the Showa era, my grandfather joined a group of tomb robbers, hoping to uncover the mysteries buried in the graves of samurai from the Edo period.
But his explorations set off a series of unforeseen events, ultimately leading to his mysterious death. Then my father’s equally mysterious disappearance pushed things to a new level.
More than a decade after my grandfather died, I stumbled upon clues he had left behind. I gradually realized that his death and my father’s disappearance were no coincidences. Somehow, the two were connected.
By chance, I met Mr. Matsumoto Saburo, one of my grandfather’s old companions.
I joined Mr. Matsumoto Saburo and became a tomb raider. I believe I can find the truth I’ve been seeking.
