The story takes place in Yanjiao, a suburb of Beijing, in a B&B and casual bar called "Yanchao Jiaojiao". The proprietress, Sun Yuening, is a shrewd and capable Beijinger. She runs this store with several employees and regular customers with different personalities, which has good and bad business. The B&B not only receives tourists from all over the world, but also serves as a social bar, where various funny stories and interpersonal conflicts are frequently staged.
