Siheyuan: Reborn as He Yuzhu, the Chronic Nice Guy

He transmigrates to 1952 and becomes He Yuzhu, a selfless man who is far too kind.

That year, his father, He Daqing, abandons his children and heads straight to Baoding to look for the widow Bai. Their life becomes desperately hard, and none of the neighbors in the courtyard offer a helping hand.

Fortunately, before leaving, He Daqing entrusts He Yuzhu to Wang Mingde, the Sichuan chef at Cuihua Restaurant. With his master’s help, He Yuzhu angrily moves out of the courtyard.

By chance, He Yuzhu saves Chen Xueru during an enemy-agent operation, and the two begin a sweet life together.

In his spare time, He Yuzhu hones his cooking skills, practices martial arts, and runs a silk shop with Chen Xueru.

In secret, he uses the space he carries with him to grow crops and raise livestock, along with cultivating millennium-old antiques, gradually amassing astonishing wealth.

After 1952, as local governments are established, He Yuzhu is also appointed to an official post.

Many years later, Yi Zhonghai dies miserably in a garbage dump. The other two masters huddle together for warmth beneath a bridge, while Qin Huairu is left with no one to support her in her old age.

Thanks to his own wisdom and hard work, He Yuzhu lives a happy, fulfilling life, while those “beasts” who once tormented him meet tragic ends.
