The defense of the Aelasil Plains has finally begun. Due to a series of misguided policies and orders, all twelve billion people of the various races across the plains, along with more than a hundred million allied soldiers in the Ninth Theater, are wiped out. Summoned by the United Government, Han Ben interrupts his studies in Jinglan Prefecture and heads to the battlefield ahead of schedule.
The wings of the Dola dragon blot out the sky, while the roars of the Behemoths tear at the eardrums. Han Ben retreats with the collapsing army, falling back again and again until he wages guerrilla warfare in the Frosang Range.
The love and hatred of Tianji Island are sealed deep in Han Ben's memories after the island sinks beneath the Salamander Sea. As Han Ben rises in stature and is confirmed as the Savior Lord, he eventually becomes master of the Holy Spirit Continent. Yet he seems cursed by fate: every lover who comes into his life dies, leaving only regret.
When brothers finally turn against one another, the Holy Spirit Continent faces yet another crisis. In the end, Han Ben uses the sword he once wielded against his enemies to sever the brotherly bond he once shared.
