Love by Force: A Substitute's Dangerous Romance

(One-on-one romance; both leads are inexperienced in love; stand-in; face-slapping; happy ending; marriage first, love later.)

Their friends thought Shen Shiqing married Li Yuzhi because he saw her as a stand-in. Shen Shiqing never bothered to explain. He didn’t think it was necessary.

He had simply happened to see Li Yuzhi’s photo. It had nothing to do with love. He just felt she was the woman he wanted to marry.

No matter what, he had to bring her home as his wife first.

What he didn’t expect was that Li Yuzhi wouldn’t be the first to fall. He would.

Was Li Yuzhi not the stand-in after all? Was it him?

*

Li Yuzhi firmly refused to marry a man she had never met, but after seeing Shen Shiqing’s photo, she agreed without hesitation.

Shen Shiqing looked so much like that person that, countless times, Li Yuzhi thought the man had come back to life.

When Shen Shiqing’s friends called her a stand-in, she wasn’t upset. She was relieved. She was using Shen Shiqing as a stand-in, too, so at least things were fair.

But as they spent more time together, she couldn’t help falling for him.

Before she could confess her feelings, Shen Shiqing discovered the truth about the stand-in.

In that case, they could simply part ways and each go their own way.

But the man kept pressing her at every turn and even wanted to imprison her.

With no other choice, she ran away.

(She pursues him at first; later, he turns domineering and forces her to stay. In short, it’s a tangled, slightly angsty story with a sweet ending. The truth about the stand-in will be revealed in the novel.)
