[Naruto]+ [Transmigration]+ [Underdog Comeback]
Ye Feng, an anime-loving shut-in, transmigrates into the Naruto world as the frail Gekko Hayate. Faced with the threat of the Otsutsuki clan, Gekko Hayate just wants to lie flat and stay alive.
When the Naruto: Shippuden anime begins airing in the modern world, the world's will becomes aware of the words "Shippuden." It grants Gekko Hayate a "Screen Time System" that gives him random rewards based on how long he appears in the Naruto anime, his standout scenes, and his popularity ranking. And so Gekko Hayate begins his journey from sacrificial extra to protagonist...
[Naruto Fan Forum]
"Shippuden is finally airing! I've been waiting forever. Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi... Wait! Who the heck is Gekko Hayate? Did they change the protagonist?"
"Hayate must be the author's favorite. Every so often, another new ability comes out of nowhere!"
"The fake protagonist: Naruto Uzumaki. The real protagonist: Gekko Hayate! I've switched sides. Hayate's new ability is so cool!"
"I never thought this frail guy who keeps popping up all over the story would survive past 700 episodes. No wonder he's the protagonist!"
