Gu Qizheng was born in 1963 in a poor family in a rural area of a remote small county in Binhai City, Southeast Province. He was determined to study and was admitted to the police academy through hard work. After graduation, Gu Qizheng entered the police force and emerged in Binjiang District. However, as his position rose, he fell into complicated interpersonal relationships. After failing to compete with Su Yichen, Gu Qizheng's desire for power gradually expanded. During his tenure in Huaiyuan County and Qianjiang County, he colluded with businessmen. Eventually, Gu Qizheng returned to Binjiang District and reached the peak of power, but also fell into decline. Later, Gu Qizheng's disciplinary and illegal behavior was reported, his family was broken up, and his career was ruined. In the detention center, he regretted his mistake. This story deeply explores the themes of power and corruption, human frailty, family and career, law and justice, and is thought-provoking.
