(Single heroine, slow-paced, lots of worldbuilding and characters)
In a world scarred beyond repair by the Holy War, a world of magic and alchemy teeming with monsters, follow the guidance of the old records. Along the long road, keep burning away your own soul in the effort to stop another war from destroying the balance that sustains life. Heaven-sent power, and humanity's growing understanding of the world, have stripped most other races of their advantages. Will endless expansion lead to integration, or will it erupt into all-out war? Scheming among those beneath the people, factionalism and profiteering among those above them, wrongful imprisonment... This is the most peaceful of eras, and also the one with the most turbulent undercurrents. When the ladder to godhood opens to everyone, will the god “Ming” stand above, or the demon “Yin” below? Welcome to a magical world...
