The Last Tomb Raider: The Strange Tale of Dragon Seeking

A tattered scroll and half a compass. When the secrets of feng shui collide with modern archaeology, I venture into forbidden underground zones, blazing a trail for the living and untying the dead from their burdens!

In 2024, beneath the seemingly tranquil city, the hidden underworld has never vanished. Thirty-five-year-old Li Xuan appears to be a laid-back antique dealer running a street stall in Panjiayuan, but he is actually the sole heir to the Xunlong branch of a family of tomb raiders. He possesses extraordinary skills and has mastered the long-lost Sixteen-Character Yin-Yang Feng Shui Art. Yet because of a family curse, all he wants is to live an ordinary life. Then a bloodstained ancient tomb map and clues to his father’s disappearance shatter his peace.

In search of the truth, Li Xuan is forced back into the underworld, but his team is an odd bunch: his sworn brother Wang Daqiang, a tough former soldier who lives by the motto “All fear comes from not having enough firepower”; and Lin Qing, a cool, aloof archaeology PhD who vows to debunk Li Xuan’s “feudal superstition” with carbon-14 dating.

When “reading the earth to locate a tomb” meets “geological surveying,” and “black donkey hooves” collide with “high-tech exoskeletons.” From the Corpse Demon General of Longshan in the northwest to the ghosts of the Silk Road beneath Yumen Pass; from a lost imperial city in the forests of the southern frontier to a deadly quicksand trap along the ancient Yellow River route. The tombs are full of mechanisms, and the human heart is more treacherous than any ghost. With his nemesis Du Ming closing in and ancient tomb horrors that defy scientific explanation, Li Xuan lights a cigarette and turns the compass in his hand:

“Dr. Lin, data may be dead, but people are alive. I’m betting this reading gets us out in one piece!”

This is more than a thrilling treasure hunt. It is a fiery quest to uncover the gaps in five thousand years of Chinese history!
