My Heart Belongs to You

(A discarded daughter who plays the fool to catch her prey vs. an overbearing, calculating general)

When Xu Xingluo was born, her mother died of severe bleeding. Branded an ill omen, she was handed to Nanny Meng before her umbilical cord had even been cut, then sent to the most remote estate.

Sixteen years later, Miss Chu Qingyan refuses to marry the son of the Marquis of Dingnan, so Xu Xingluo is dragged back from the estate to take her place as the bride.

At the Chu family, Xu Xingluo faces one hardship after another. Against all odds, she investigates her mother’s death and uncovers the real killer. She thinks it is just a simple murder amid household power struggles.

Unexpectedly, the case implicates powerful figures at court, and everything becomes bewilderingly complicated. Just as she is at a loss, the assassination at Lin Nan Post Station seventeen years ago resurfaces in public memory.

Ji Chenghuai’s mother and elder brother were also caught up in that incident, along with the daughter and son-in-law of the General of the Southern Campaign. The case implicates a vast number of people, and Xu Xingluo is drawn once again into political turmoil, where she unexpectedly learns her mother’s true identity…

Amid open and covert struggles, two people seeking revenge grow ever closer…

Xu Xingluo: “The moon rises and the stars descend. I will stay by your side. If you do not betray me, I will never betray our love.”

Ji Chenghuai: “Heaven has blessed me, and I will keep my promise to you. With vows as deep as the sea and firm as the mountains, I will never betray or forget you.”
