Early on: [A seemingly gentle senior brother who puts on an act x a goofy amnesiac who likes the second male lead]
It was a long time before Xie Ruyu realized that when Qi Si had once taken his hand and said very seriously, “You know I would gladly bear everything you have to endure,”
“When the fighting on the border is over, shall we travel everywhere together, A-Yu?”
“Wherever A-Yu wants to go, your senior brother will follow, even to the ends of the earth.”
It had all been true.
Midway through: [A cold, ruthless top who has dropped his secret identity x a bottom who regains his memories and hates his senior brother most]
Xie Ruyu would sometimes think back to that early summer, when he and Qi Si sat side by side in the corridor, the purple grapes in their hands fresh and glistening, their sweetness lingering in his heart.
After regaining his memories, the things he said most often to Qi Si were, “I hate you,” and, “I loathe you.”
But Qi Si only said, “It doesn't matter. I love you.”
Later on: [A tender, gentle villain who gives up everything x a clingy lover whose memories are a tangled mess of love and hate]
When the man who was willing to cast aside every shred of dignity for him knelt and begged Chao Yan to save him, Xie Ruyu suddenly realized that the heart that had always wanted to run away had finally settled. The world was vast, but he would never escape him for the rest of his life.
[I've revised this synopsis over and over, and it's still so useless. I don't even know what it's trying to say. Just read the story instead.]
It's so beautiful. I cried a lot. I cried several times while watching it. I really like Yuyu.
