Entirely fictional setting, no historical accuracy intended. Everything serves the story.
The Fu family has a legitimate daughter, Fu Youning. One day, drunk, she takes her sister's place and marries into the Pei household. She curses her father-in-law and talks back to her grandmother. It's just a marriage meant to bring good fortune, and her general husband has long since vanished, so her aunt, the empress, will surely find a way to get her divorced. She can do whatever she likes and refuse to put up with anything.
But three days later:
“Why are you back?”
“You married my father?”
*
After returning, Pei Yufei agrees to divorce her three times, then takes it back each time.
He goes back on his word, eavesdrops, climbs over walls, and even once secretly watched her bathe!
What a playboy.
Later on:
Fu Youning: “I thought I liked gentle, refined gentlemen.”
Pei Yufei: “And then?”
Fu Youning: “Then I realized love matters more than all the rules, and principles can't stand in the way of what I want.”
The writing is good and it's beautiful to read, but it's a bit annoying to watch how the male and female protagonists always misunderstand each other🙉
I really like watching it, but it's a toad that doesn't understand love.
The content is vivid and exciting
It's pretty good, you can watch it
