The male lead was originally the spirit root of a Red Giant Immortal on an ancient battlefield. But after swallowing a Spirit-Forming Pill refined from spirit roots, his body was destroyed, and a surge of spiritual power entered the spirit root, reincarnating him. Later, he met the female lead, Shuang Yao. But because he offended someone, she was captured and killed. The male lead was devastated. He then went to the Spirit-Sacrificing Sect in search of a way to revive her, but ultimately failed to find one and could only wait for her next reincarnation. Later, in Shura City, he encountered the female lead's first incarnation.
