(Not set in the Primordial World. The setting is an Age of Dharma Decline built around the world of the hundred-chapter Journey to the West. A different take on Black Myth.)
Five hundred years have passed since the pilgrimage to the West. The Heavenly Dao is dead, faith has crumbled, and the great figures of Buddhism and Daoism have lost their powers.
Demons have risen against the Heavenly Court, and all living things have become nothing more than sustenance for evil spirits.
Of the three teachings, Confucianism, Buddhism, and Daoism, only the great Confucian scholars remain, arguing scripture with demons.
Though Sun Sheng is a transmigrator, he was fortunate enough to become a disciple of the Great Sage Sun at Flower-Fruit Mountain in his early years.
But as the Heavenly Dao crumbled, his master Sun Wukong charged into the Heavenly Court to battle the evils and never returned. Flower-Fruit Mountain, too, fell.
From that moment on, Sun Sheng took up arms and began his journey to slay demons and become a saint!
“Disciple, do you want to become the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, or the Victorious Fighting Buddha?”
“Master, I understand now. When the world is at peace, I can be a Fighting Buddha. But when Heaven and Earth show no mercy, I must be the Great Sage Equal to Heaven!”
Although the explanation part is a bit long-winded and has a lot of headlines, the plot is quite interesting.
Wow, it's so hard to find pure Journey to the West novels. It's either Journey to the West or Journey to the West + Prehistoric Times.
I saw two pictures, but I can't see the mystery.
It's okay in tomatoes😋
