After staying up all night watching the old anime Log Horizon, Qiu Rui saw the iconic “No Minori” scene and got so worked up that he suddenly died, transmigrating into the world of Log Horizon. Since he only knew the plot of the first two seasons, he befriended the protagonists, Shiroe and the others, ahead of time. After the Catastrophe sent players into the game world, he took part in all kinds of iconic scenes from the first and second seasons. He also tried to steal Minori away, the novel’s biggest loser in love, and then set off on a new journey with the great Shiroe holding down the fort.
This is a fanfic based on the anime Log Horizon, whose third season finally came out only recently.
So, for the readers who haven’t read the novels or watched the anime, I should go over the anime’s setting to make this story easier to follow.
First, like Warcraft, the original work’s “Elder Tale” is an MMORPG. However, I’ve made a few small changes to the setting: after twenty years of development, the game has evolved into a DMMORPG like Yggdrasil from Overlord.
I’ve also slightly adjusted Shiroe’s rather withdrawn personality, and will make a few changes to the reunion on the moon.
So I’ve changed the premise from someone transmigrating while waiting at their computer for an expansion pack to come out, to a mass transmigration incident in which everyone gets trapped in the virtual game during their first time playing it.
