The story takes place in Beijing in 1950. The protagonist Lin Sheng travels through time and becomes He Yuzhu, a young man who lives in a courtyard full of love. He is determined to get rid of the frustrating fate in the original play, draw a line with the bad characters in the courtyard, and create a wonderful life of his own.
