The Mysterious Village

In a mysterious little village, the son of “Ghost Taker,” a simple-minded boy named Mutou, dropped out of school. Every night, he went with two young bachelors from the village to the home of Qu Hua, a widowed matchmaker in the neighboring village. The only way there was through the mass grave between the villages, known as the “Ghost Market.” One night, when the two bachelors weren't home, Mutou went to Qu Hua's alone. On his way back, he discovered a huge stash of stolen money buried in the graveyard by a beautiful fugitive. While moving the money, he acquired a secret technique and discovered that Japanese soldiers were mining for gold. The woman he had fallen for, Qu Hua (Cheng Cheng), turned out to be a high-ranking military official and a married woman. Together with Dan Chen and her two sisters, carrying a token and accompanied by Old Yellow Cat, he worked with the state to cut off the time tunnel and protect national assets. He also led his friends in developing animal husbandry, helped the villagers grow rich, and found love himself.
