A Cloud Made of Rain on the Horizon

At fifty, Xu Xiaoyu believed that after a lifetime of hardships, she could finally wait for spring to arrive. Her son had settled down and built a career, so she summoned the courage to enter the world of dating. After being bombarded by one unsuitable prospect after another, she met a man named Huo Yunsheng on a dating platform. He was like a dazzling, heart-stirring light, illuminating her long-dormant life. Her girlish excitement returned, and she staked her life's savings and all her heartfelt devotion on this journey to the seaside. She regarded her friends' attempts to stop her as jealousy, convinced that this was Heaven's reward for her kindness throughout her first fifty years. But when the huge sum was transferred, the dream shattered, and Huo Yunsheng vanished without a trace. Only then did she understand that this was no gift from fate, but a trap with a price tag already attached, as cold and hopeless as the day her mother had callously sent her away as a child.
