Legends Beyond the Realm

(This story does not follow typical tropes. The protagonist is not invincible, there is no System, and the story is neither mindless nor a power fantasy. Readers who enjoy brainless, feel-good fantasy should proceed with caution. This is an ensemble story with no single protagonist, and its characters grow over time.) What is the universe? People assume that the existence of matter is what defines a universe, what defines a plane of existence. What lies beyond the universe? Outside the realm of matter, there is no matter at all. This means anything whatsoever, including time and space. Beyond our universe, other universes exist. But each is separated from the others by a formless void, a space without any matter, including space itself. There is a plane that did not arise naturally, but was forged by ancient powers. It gathers the power of 108 universes. These 108 universes represent the limit of what the ancient powers of the various universes could explore. This plane, which gathers the power of 108 universes, is known to the world as the Outer Heavens!
