She Can't Die

After two cars collided, another pregnant woman and I were rushed to the delivery room at the same time.

“This patient’s water has broken. She needs emergency care. Find her family and get them to sign.”

Just as they were about to wheel me into the operating room, I hurriedly said,

“My husband is busy. I can sign for myself!”

Before I could finish, the other pregnant woman’s husband rushed over.

“Treat her first. She’s in worse condition. She has heart disease!”

His face was streaked with blood as he anxiously spoke, but I still recognized him.

Fu Shen, you’re my husband. You’re supposed to be my husband.

“I’m Fu Shen, an OB-GYN at Central Hospital. Trust my professional judgment.”

I reached out to touch him, but he slapped my hand away.

“But her water has already broken,” someone said.

Fu Shen glanced over. “She won’t die. I’m her husband. I can sign a liability waiver.”
