After reading Tang Gui, I became interested in the history of Princess Taiping. I happened to read the book Wu Zetian. I thought that these histories are all connected anyway, so I simply read them together. It's a good read.
I don't know much about this period of history. Combining the TV series (Tang Gui and Gong Xin She) and this book, I have a deeper understanding of this period of Tang history.

A book with great speculative arguments. The history is mixed with truth and falsehood due to its long history. However, the author of this article uses objective and rational analysis based on citing many historical materials to show the readers the magnificent life of Wu Zetian. My first reaction after reading it was that Wu Zetian seemed to be forced to make choices throughout her life (caused by the constraints of feudal society), but she was also very witty, turning against the wind step by step, and writing her own colorful life. I watched her step by step from a woman to the emperor of the feudal dynasty. After the emperor of the feudal dynasty, whether it was Li Shimin or Li Zhi, ascended to the position of that emperor, it seemed that everything might become his enemy and threaten his own interests and lives, so they would rather kill by mistake. Therefore, Emperor Wu was inevitably like this.
