The Grave Robbers' Chronicles 1: The Kingdom of Sui Ming
Seventy-five years after the founding of the People’s Republic of China, tomb raiding entered its golden age. The most famous powers were the Four Schools, Nine Families, and Two Clans, three forces that kept one another in check and left each other alone. Even today, the Four Schools and Nine Families still have heirs among the living. The heirs of these two forces have pulled back the veil of mystery from a host of baffling places: the Seven-Star Lu Palace, the Snake Marsh Ghost City, the Zhang Family’s Ancient Tower, the Ancient City of Jingjue, the Kunlun Shrine, the Nine-Story Demon Tower, and more. Only the Two Clans vanished without a trace fifty years ago, seemingly lost forever to the river of time. Their strange records, documenting the Liu family’s history of tomb raiding and countless secrets, are nowhere to be found. The Wang family’s sacred relic, the Ghost Token, disappeared along with them.
Twenty-six years later, a team of tomb raiders set out to uncover the mystery of the Two Clans’ disappearance and find the strange records and Ghost Token. After two years of gathering clues and searching far and wide, they finally located an apparently ordinary tomb in Shandong. Then they disappeared in Luoshan, their whereabouts unknown. Several people who had known one another as children reunite many years later and embark on a strange new adventure, opening a new chapter in the history of tomb raiding.
