Great Tang: From the Start, I Listen to Music at the Brothel and Spank Li Er

After transmigrating to the Tang Dynasty, Chen Ning starts out listening to music at a pleasure house. There, he happens upon Li Shimin and Changsun Wuji riding through the streets after curfew. The nerve! As a night patrol captain, Chen Ning arrests them without hesitation and gives them thirty strokes each.

Li Shimin: I am the Son of Heaven, yet I’ve been caned! This man must die!

A few days later, Chen Ning goes into business with Old Li, selling refined salt.

Li Shimin: My treasury has never been this full. I’ll spare his life and promote him six ranks!

A few years later, Chen Ning devises plans to destroy the Turks, Tuyuhun, Goguryeo, and the Five Great Clans.

Li Shimin: Chen Ning has rendered great service to the Tang. Make him a duke, and marry Princess Li Lizhi to him!
