The Mandate: Beginning

[One female lead + no angst + lighthearted + not brainless + ensemble cast]

“Are you going alone?”

“Yeah.”

“Are you sure you can do it?”

“No.”

“Then why go?”

“I'm afraid I'll regret it if I don't.”

“Won't you regret it if you go?”

“No regrets.”

“At least... not right now.”

“Is there anything else you want to say?”

“Mm... I haven't seen the cherry blossoms in Fusang in ages. Go see them for me.”

“I don't want to go ‘for’ you...”

“I want to take you with me.”

“The name of the beginning, the fate of the sequence...”

“This is your only ending.”

“I told you...”

“The ending of the script...”

“Can be changed by your own hand!”

(This story is a slow burn. The first few chapters aren't great; it really gets going after the mental hospital arc, with the first big climax around chapter 30.)
