He is 417, a decisive and fair-minded underworld inspector who never forgets a kindness or a grudge. But an accident leads him to let a demon from Hell escape.
The demon flees to the human world. To give 417 a chance to make amends, the King of the Underworld sends him there to capture it.
Unfortunately, his useless teammate 416 mistakenly demotes 417 to the human world to be reborn as an ordinary person. He becomes a detective, with a beautiful girlfriend and a loving, sweet relationship that’s overflowing with affection.
Even so, the demon is always by his side.
But that’s not a problem! 416 fights alongside him in the human world, while also envying him: “If I’d known he’d be having such a good time, I’d have been reborn as a human too!”
Little by little, 416 stops envying him, because...
