In ancient times, the Ancestral God Pangu created the heavens and the earth, forming the world of the Nine Provinces and Ten Lands.
At first, Pangu took twelve disciples to govern heaven and earth. They were known as the Twelve Golden Immortals.
Later, Pangu took in four great mounts: the Azure Ox Chonghua, the Kunpeng Yulin, the White Tiger Shiyang, and the Black Tortoise Jiang Xing. He also took in the boy Qinglong Fuxi and the Snake Clan’s Nuwa. Together, they were known as the Six Spirits!
After Pangu passed away, the ancient Golden Immortals sparked a great war. Gonggong crashed into Mount Buzhou, bringing down the heavens.
The Six Spirits, led by Nuwa, mended the sky and remade the world, then created the human race, restoring life to all things on earth.
Later, the disciples of the Twelve Golden Immortals fought for the throne of the Celestial Emperor, sparking a war among the gods that lasted ten thousand years. Pangu’s four divine beasts, Kunpeng, the White Tiger, Fuxi, and Chonghua, decided to emerge from seclusion and bring peace to the world!
Kunpeng and the White Tiger died in battle, while Fuxi and Chonghua pacified the world.
After peace was restored, Fuxi opened the Heavenly Court, proclaimed himself Celestial Emperor, and took Nuwa as his Heavenly Empress.
This angered Chonghua, who broke with Fuxi and established the Demon Clan, proclaiming himself the Demon Venerable!
Later, Kunpeng’s descendant Yu Tianran established the Demon Beast Clan and proclaimed himself its Demon Emperor.
The gods, demons, and demon beasts divided the world between them, and peace endured!
After endless ages, the Great Tribulation of the Nine Heavens struck once more. Gods and demons were wiped out, and the Celestial Emperor Fuxi, the Demon Venerable, and the Demon Beast Emperor all perished in the calamity. Cultivators of the gods, demons, and demon beasts fell in great numbers, while Fuxi the Great’s seventh prince, Ziwei, was born in response to the calamity.
Later, Ziwei married the Nine Heavens Mystic Phoenix, daughter of the Demon Beast Emperor, and together they began their journey to save the world.
During the reign of Fuxi the Great, divination foretold the secret of the Great Tribulation of the Nine Heavens: the gods and demons would fall, the White Tiger would become empress, and all under heaven would prosper!
For the sake of all living beings, the Lady Nuwa then devoted herself to supporting the White Tiger as empress, forcing the Nine Heavens Mystic Phoenix to reincarnate through the Six Paths.
After the Celestial Emperor Ziwei pacified the world, he passed the throne to the Azure Emperor, then reincarnated through the Six Paths with his wife!
