[Both leads are virgins / The heroine is a crybaby / He dotes on her alone / Palace intrigue / Sweet romance / Historical setting]
Yue Shu is a little maple leaf on a tree. One day, she wakes from a dream and finds herself floating onto the emperor’s bed.
She thinks she’s about to die, but the emperor simply waves a hand and pats her on the head.
Beautiful clothes are laid out before her, and dazzling jewels sit within reach. She touches the beads around her neck, takes a bite of a sweet pastry, then taps her head. Am I dreaming?
The Empress Dowager says Yue Shu is a demon who has bewitched the emperor.
The emperor: “Yes, I know.”
The Empress says Yue Shu has neither merit nor children and cannot be made a consort.
The emperor thinks for a moment. “She deserves a reward for saving me. Make her a Noble Consort.”
Consort Lin says Noble Consort Yue brought evil spirits into the palace and must be executed!
The emperor: “Don’t worry, my love. Yue’er says they’re her friends.”
Love at first sight, then a second glance that could topple a kingdom. Now he’s fallen deep, with no way to pull himself out...
There are a few fantasy elements, but not many. The story is mainly about palace intrigue.
Great. I like it very much.
