The Imperial Consort Beat Me Until I Miscarried in Public, and the Emperor Ordered Her Buried with Me

I am the newly taken secondary consort of a prince, frail and often too sick to leave home.

When I was three months pregnant, I had hoped to stay home and rest, but it happened to be the birthday of the emperor's favorite consort.

The prince was invited and took me along.

Partway through the banquet, I felt a little unwell. The prince was discussing state affairs with the emperor in the Secretariat, so I went to change by myself.

It was my first time in the palace, and I didn't know my way around. I wandered into the emperor's private chambers by mistake.

When I came back out, I ran into the emperor's favorite consort.

She took me for a shameless woman trying to seduce the emperor and had her people subject me to every form of torture.

When the emperor and the prince arrived, she was still gloating and taking credit for her actions.

She simply failed to notice their faces, dark as the bottom of a pot.
