Li Chengqian, Crown Prince of the Tang Dynasty, accidentally falls from the wall of Xuanwu Gate into the barbican. His soul mysteriously enters the enigmatic "Palace of Reincarnation," where he lives through the life of Hu Zhou, a man from the modern era, and gains a thousand years' worth of insight.
When he awakens and returns, he begins a reform journey full of ambition. But his plans threaten the interests of many, sparking countless conflicts and struggles. Resistance from conservative forces, opposition from the nobility, and secret interference from his younger brother Li Tai bring one obstacle after another.
Yet Li Chengqian refuses to back down. After weathering countless trials, he devotes himself to building an ocean-going fleet and eventually establishes the "Great Qian Kingdom" across the ocean, ruling separately from the Tang Dynasty. Thus begins an epic and stirring legend.
