In the distant ancient past, after the last dragon in the world died, its Dragon Pearl miraculously survived and eventually came into the hands of an ancestor of the Li family.
They had no idea what it was and kept it at home. They thought it was a treasure, but no one would buy it when they tried to sell it. Everyone else thought it was just a glass bead. Gradually, the Li family came to think so too, and left it in the storage room. That was where it stayed until Li Ye arrived and accidentally triggered the legacy within, becoming the last dragon in the world.
