You Were Sent as a Hostage, So How Did You Become the King of the Night?

On the Ancient Xuan Continent, the five clans of Heaven, Demons, Monsters, Ghosts, and Barbarians wage war. The Heavenly Clan emerges victorious, while the other four clans are defeated and send hostages to negotiate peace. When Lei Yi, a hostage from the Demon Clan, arrives in the Heavenly Clan's imperial capital, he makes enemies of the hostages from the Ghost, Monster, and Barbarian Clans by saving Luo Jiaying, the Heavenly Emperor's only daughter. Lei Yi and Luo Jiaying later fall in love and pledge themselves to each other. The princes of the other three clans are expelled from the Heavenly Clan. The three conspire with sixty elders from their own clans, killing Lei Yi's maternal uncle and cousin-in-law, then sending Lei Yi plunging to the bottom of the lake in the death trap known as the Dark Abyss. His cousin jumps into the lake to save him and dies. At the bottom of the abyss, Lei Yi vows revenge. He diligently trains in the Dark Demon God's Curse and the War God's Battle Aura Formula, then absorbs dark matter from a dark vortex beneath the abyss, surpassing the limits of his body. His dark power sprouts wings from his ribs, allowing him to fly out of the abyss and spend his wedding night with Luo Jiaying, who has waited for him for ten years. When his body combines darkness with the holy light cultivated by Luo Jiaying, it mutates once more, giving him four wings and making him the new-generation god known as the King of the Dark Night. Luo Jiaying also sprouts a pair of holy-light wings on her back and becomes an Angel of Light. Together, they set out on the path of revenge, igniting a new war among the five clans. With the help of Tianzong and Mozu, thousand-year-old gods of the two clans, they defeat the thousand-year-old evil gods of the other three clans: Ghost Fengdi, Long Zunjun, and Yao Kunwang. After killing their enemies, they end the chaos among the five clans with the mediation of the Three Elders of Shenzhou. In the end, Lei Yi and Luo Jiaying live happily together.
