This collection of paintings was painted by Mr. Feng Zikai in central Guizhou during the Anti-Japanese War. At that time, wars were still raging and China was in chaos. Mr. Zikai lived in seclusion in the mountains and forests, using his paintbrush as a rafter to describe and carve out the conditions of all living beings at that time. He composed six volumes, namely "Ancient Poems and New Paintings", "Children's Portraits", "Students' Portraits", "Folks' Portraits", "Urban Portraits" and "Wartime Portraits", which included a total of 424 cartoons. There are only a few strokes, but they are vivid and expressive. In the past, Du Fu used poetry as history, but this piece by Mr. Zikai can also be said to be a history of painting at one time!
