Synopsis

[Yu-Gi-Oh!]“System, what do you mean, this is the Duel Monsters era, there aren't any active Stardust Particles, so Synchro monsters in the Extra Deck can't be used for now?” You Lun stared at his Centur-Ion deck, its Extra Deck blacked out, and fell into thought. “It's fine. The Centur-Ion Main Deck monsters and traps can still steamroll this Axe Raider beatdown meta.” You Lun looked around Domino City, where everyone was just taking turns playing one card each, and grinned savagely. “Time to give these people a shock!” “Activate the Set Card, White Dragon's Glory!” “Fusion Summon! Dark Magician Knight!” You Lun fell into thought. “Is something a little off about Kaiba and Yugi?” [Fun fact: The Yu-Gi-Oh! universe contains countless parallel worlds. Maybe this is just one whose plot happens to be a little like the anime.] “Fine, so that's how you want to play?” (This novel builds on the anime and adds other elements, including miraculous top-decks, made-up rules, custom cards, and beating up cavemen. This is a new author's first book, so please leave any corrections or feedback in the reviews. I'll definitely read anything you tag me in! I'll fix any deck-building mistakes!)

It'd be even better if they used cards from the Branded series.

Looking for Yu-Gi-Oh! Fics, Not Ones Set in the Original Era

Most of the DM-era decks aren't interesting. Some don't even give the protagonist any upgrades to their deck later on, so they just use a modern deck to duel. What's the point of that?

Any Yu-Gi-Oh! Novels? They Don't Have to Be Set in the Yu-Gi-Oh! World

Parallel universes are fine. I'd like fewer decks built around Roaring, and the main deck should be a relatively popular one.

People of the underworld never surrender! My wish list isn't long: Heroes, Dark Magician, Spellbooks, Mekk-Knights, Cyberse, Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Red-Eyes Black Dragon, Six Samurai, Masked HERO (you know it), Phantom Knights, Stardust, Cyber Dragons, Witchcrafter (thanks, Luoyang), and Toon.
