My parents were eighty and had no one to support them. To shirk responsibility, my eldest brother actually arranged for them to work in a factory.
He declared, "Eighty is the perfect age to strive! They can still support themselves with their own two hands!"
I couldn't stand by and watch, so I brought my parents home and looked after them devotedly, only for them to criticize me at every turn.
If they didn't like a meal, they'd flip the table and demand I cook it again. In the middle of winter, they made me hand-wash their clothes. They even flushed after urinating but not after defecating, saying they were saving me money on the water bill.
They also gave my daughter's dowry to my eldest brother and used my ID to take out a loan to buy him a house. With their lives nearly at an end, they even blamed me for shortening them.
"You heartless, rotten little brat! You stopped me from going to the factory to exercise, and that's why we died so young! Otherwise, the old man and I could have lived to a hundred!"
Not long afterward, the debt collectors came knocking. When they saw our family couldn't repay the money, they started smashing everything in sight, then went too far and hacked all three of us to death.
When I opened my eyes again, I was back at the time my eldest brother arranged for our parents to work in the factory.
