Seychelles

Seychelles is a small island country in the Indian Ocean with an important maritime geostrategic location. Seychelles is composed of several small islands with a small land area and a marine exclusive economic zone of 1.4 Million square kilometers. Seychelles was occupied by French colonists in 1756. After 1794, Britain and France fought for and occupied Seychelles many times. In 1814, Seychelles became a British colony and declared independence in 1976. Seychelles is a multi-ethnic country with a population of only 100,000. Its economic pillars are tourism and marine fisheries. It is one of the few high-income countries in Africa. Seychelles pursues a foreign policy of neutrality, non-alignment, good neighborliness and pragmatism.
