Bai Miao’s answer: It’s boring. I want to die.
But dying isn’t an option. It never is.
As a demon who lived before the founding of the country, Bai Miao was cherished by everyone and had a lifespan of over a thousand years. But life went far too smoothly, so Bai Miao began trying to kill herself, figuring it might be more of a challenge.
After countless attempts, each thwarted by one bizarre reason after another, Bai Miao made yet another attempt to die.
But Su Lan, after failing to kill herself for the umpteenth time, looked at the five people who had inexplicably appeared in her home and saved her life, and said: “I’ll behave. Please leave me alone.”
But since they were already here, and she had no idea when she could go back, she might as well enjoy the present.
And so Bai Miao began her life raising kids (or so she thought).
