I thought they were both very short. The first story was shorter and the second one was indeed a bit longer, but it didn't seem like it was used to highlight the protagonist's luck or power or anything like that. It was just a very good writing style with few emotional lines (the second one) seemed okay, but it was just updated and I didn't read it for a long time.
