Lin Xu unexpectedly obtains a portal that connects two worlds. By trading a huge amount of grain, he buys the position of lord of Northern Territory, a border region in the Principality of Violet. But beneath its dilapidated appearance, he discovers he has been swindled. The territory's borders face attacks from magical beasts, its population is sparse, and its infrastructure is nonexistent. Fortunately, with his portal, Lin Xu can solve all these problems. But when a horde of magical beasts appears, he nearly gives up on the territory. Just then, Lin Xu discovers a witch with supernatural powers. When the guards capture her, Lin Xu chooses to interrogate her himself.
