Tang Lin is the nephew of Xiao Zhenzhen’s best friend, seven years her junior. The two had nothing to do with each other until a sudden upheaval brought them together.
At first, Xiao Zhenzhen warned herself not to let a handsome face cloud her judgment.
But maybe it was just her imagination: she kept thinking Tang Lin was deliberately trying to seduce her. What kind of decent guy goes around showing off his abs all the time?
Out of basic human kindness, she took him in. But the more she looked after him, the more things seemed off. Then one day, the handsome guy got drunk, and Xiao Zhenzhen read through a whole pile of incoherent messages. She was completely stunned:
Auntie,
I feel so awful inside.
Please don’t treat me like this.
I’m begging you.
Please be gentle with me.
Turns out her instincts were right.
Bonus Scene 1:
Xiao Zhenzhen picked up the half-burned incense stick left over from last time on the altar and carefully broke off half of what remained.
Tang Lin stood behind her with his arms crossed, leaning against the doorframe. His gaze fixed on the “ex-boyfriend” on the altar, he said jealously, “Last night you called me your darling, and this morning you’re here burning incense for him. What, do you feel guilty?”
Xiao Zhenzhen’s hand paused as she placed the incense. She thought, I’m just using the incense to pay my respects to Buddha, and repenting to your aunt!
Bonus Scene 2:
Tang Lin stood on the second floor, looking down at the three people in the lobby below, a vein throbbing in his forehead…
Who could have guessed that his damned, dense aunt would bring his wife along to meet a potential partner?
Tang Lin took a deep breath and called the number on his phone. “I’m wasting my youth here. I got together with you way too young…”
This is such a sloppy ending
