The Master and His Beautiful Disciples

Nie Siren and Nie Zhenxing were the sons of ordinary farmers. Faced with a world consumed by material desire, the second brother became its captive, turning into a textbook example of corruption and a debauched lifestyle. Nie Siren, by contrast, was loyal and unremarkable, living a quiet life and earning the love of his three beautiful disciples.

The father-in-law, a secondary character, spent his life practicing self-discipline and serving the public, setting an example for others. This book celebrates the local customs, landscapes, and legends of Hanshan. It focuses on the inspiring stories of the people along the Han River, who face hardship without fear and struggle fiercely to survive as they build their lives.

The master and his beautiful disciples are innocent and above reproach, yet plagued by rumors and scandal. Nie Zhenxing appears upright and virtuous, but is rotten and dark-hearted inside.

The story follows the dramatic, gripping lives of three brothers on the banks of the Han River and the women around them.
