[Editor's Recommendation] -Yu Hua's latest collection of essays in 2024!
For the first time, 12 new articles written by Yu Hua in 2024 have been included: "Valley Breeze", "Swimming Until the Sea Turns Blue", etc.
-Personally edited and selected by Yu Hua: Selected Prose Collection of 40 Years (1984-2024)
In addition to 12 new works, Yu Hua has selected 17 prose works written since 1984 and included in this book. The time spans 40 years and presents the writer's half-life experience and insights.
-The "valley breeze" brings a sense of transcendent relaxation: In this book, Yu Hua records and recalls his true feelings facing different situations. The "relaxation" and the wisdom of life that comes with ease will bring spiritual medicine to people who are anxious today. "Tension or relaxation are all given by life. When to give what is given is the will of life. We have no choice but to accept."
-A large-scale paper Vlog: ingredients, food, and super long broadcast! "I didn't expect you to be like this Yu Hua?!"
"In my childhood and adolescence, on that land with many ponds, rapeseed flowers blooming in spring, and frogs singing in summer, I did many mysterious bad things that I can't even remember, and occasionally I did some good things."
Troubled by stuttering, fighting with his brother, stealing cakes, and swimming until the sea turned blue... Yu Hua had moments of sensitivity and low self-esteem in his childhood, and he was often full of whimsical ideas and adventurous spirit.
"After being a son for thirty-three years, I started to be a father."
"The son who becomes a father will experience the constant failure of fatherhood, and the failure will be long."
In this collection of essays, Yu Hua focuses on daily life, sharing his life experiences and feelings like a friendly Vlogger. We will see a different Yu Hua, one full of ordinary troubles and happiness, and full of enthusiasm for life.
[Introduction] When he was a child, he was a naughty and sensitive boy in the fields, looking for precious happiness in a barren life; as an adult, he became a careful and tolerant father, fighting wits and courage with his son, filling dreams and reality with happy worries.
Yu Hua records the beautiful moments of daily life with his unique humor and transparency, and tells us with delicate insights and exquisite words that a breeze, a sea current, a delicious meal, an encounter... Are all gifts given to us by life.

This book is like a large paper Vlog. Teacher Yu Hua shared his life experiences and feelings in the book, which made me see a different version of him. His writing is humorous and transparent, making me feel the beautiful moments in life. This reminds me of Mr. Yang Jiang's "The Three of Us", which is also a delicate record of life, making people feel the warmth of ordinary life. I think this book is not only suitable for reading by myself, but also for giving to relatives and friends to experience the gift of life together.
I have read Teacher Yu Hua's collection of essays one after another, and this is the last one I have read so far. Although the repetition rate is a bit lower, some articles are too routine, and the overall content that can arouse my thoughts and insights is much less [laughing and crying]
As expected of Yu Hua, it is still a familiar recipe and a familiar taste! There is a bit of bitterness in the humor, which made me want to read it all in one breath [almost crying] [almost crying]
Good looking, super good looking
Reminisce more about your own childhood and the childhood with your son
The content is real and perceptible, the expression is humorous, and the language is beautiful. It can

I have read all of Yu Hua's novels Tomato, and I feel that all the books he writes have the feeling of someone staring at you all the time.
