The military writings of the Pre-Qin Dynasty are the oldest existing military thoughts in our country. They preserve some very classical combat principles of the early Spring and Autumn Period and have a strong aristocratic flavor. According to "Historical Records: Biography of Sima Rangju": "King Wei of Qi sent his officials to discuss the ancient Sima's art of war, and attached Rangju to it, so it was called Sima Rangju's art of war." The Sima mentioned here Ranju was a native of the Qi State in the late Spring and Autumn Period. His original surname was Tian and his given name was Ranju. He once led troops to defeat Jin and Yan. He was later named the Grand Sima in charge of the military by Qi Jinggong. Later generations respectfully called him Sima Ranju. According to "Hanshu·Yiwenzhi", the original "Sima Fa" had a total of 155 volumes. Unfortunately, most of the works that have been passed down to this day have been lost, and only five pieces remain.
