After the Young Lady Struck Me and Made Me Miscarry in Public, the Young Duke Went on a Rampage

The young lord of the marquis's household is frail and unable to father a child, so he offers a fortune to find an heir.

Though I was only his chamber maid, I conceived at the first try.

The entire marquis's household was overjoyed. Afraid anything might happen to me before I gave birth, they sent me to a secluded residence to rest.

They even exchanged marriage papers between me and the young lord. All that remained was a wedding, and I would be his wife in name and in fact.

I was six months pregnant when the young lord's cousin suddenly barged into the residence.

Under the pretext of rooting out mistresses, she dragged me outside to parade me before everyone. She even kicked the child right out of my belly.

"You're just a chamber maid, demoted to this secluded residence, and you still dare to sneak around!"

"You conceived this bastard in secret. If I don't punish you today, it'll look like our marquis's household has no rules!"

She had me beaten in the street, until the young lord arrived with his men.

Clutching a handkerchief, she threw herself into his arms. "Brother Huai, I'm scared! This wretched maid is throwing the household into chaos. We must tell Auntie and have her punished severely!"
