Mr. Yin, Don't Get Too Caught Up in the Role

Lu Jiu, a retired mercenary, is on her final assignment before retirement. While protecting Yin Anyu, the eldest son of the Yin Group, she disguises herself as the orphan Shen Yuetang. Through a twist of fate, she gets caught up in the Yin family's succession struggle, using her wits and skills to defuse one crisis after another. She only wants to do her job and investigate why she was kidnapped all those years ago, but is moved by the man who takes a bullet for her without hesitation.

Yin Anyu, president of the Yin Group in Jidu City, pretends to pursue Shen Yuetang because of a misunderstanding. After learning the truth, he hires her to keep playing his girlfriend and help him fend off wave after wave of assassins. What begins as an act turns real, and he falls for the seemingly capable woman. When one suitor after another appears, he can only stew in jealousy, too afraid to admit he loves her.

To the outside world, Shen Yuetang is a gentle, charming, and highly skilled special-effects makeup artist. In truth, she is a cold-blooded, deadly mercenary. She senses his unmistakable love for her but doesn't call him on it.

To the outside world, Yin Anyu is ruthless and cold, pretending to become a warmhearted man for love. In truth, he's a jealous fool who loves to imagine things and refuses to admit he has fallen in love.

Yin Anyu: I didn't realize you were an even better actor than me. I always thought I was the hunter, never knowing I was the prey.

Shen Yuetang: We're not really a couple, so you don't have to show off your acting skills at all times. You're in love, not out of your mind.
