Su Yao, a modern university student majoring in history, suddenly blacks out while visiting a museum. When she opens her eyes again, she discovers that she has transmigrated to ancient times and taken over the body of a down-on-her-luck nobleman's daughter.
When Su Yao wakes, she finds herself in a room with antique decor that's a little worse for wear. She rubs her eyes and stares at everything around her in disbelief. “Oh my, did I transmigrate? And I'm a down-on-her-luck nobleman's daughter, too? Now that's dramatic!” she says to herself.
Just then, a young maid rushes in, her face full of worry. “Miss, you're finally awake! The family can barely afford to eat!”
Su Yao gathers herself, sits up, and raises an eyebrow. “What's there to panic about? The sky isn't falling!” But in her heart, she thinks, This is a pretty miserable start, but with my smarts, how could I fail to turn things around?
The maid's eyes widen. “Miss, did you sleep so long you've lost your mind? We don't even know how we'll pay next month's rent!”
Su Yao stands up and casually flicks her sleeves. “Come on, follow me out for a walk. Maybe I'll think of a way to make some money.”
